Yesterday I spent the afternoon and evening at the Sylvan Oak in Findon, West Sussex, photographing owner Sinan Kanan, his chefs, delightful food and people, along with the exterior and interior of the restaurant. The shoot was arranged by Nick Harvey of Restaurants Brighton and I was accompanied by videographer Tom of See That
. As often happens with restaurant shoots, we were lucky enough to be able to sample the food after photographing it, and this food wasn’t just beautifully presented it was absolutely delicious too. The Sylvan Oak is a fine dining restaurant and yesterday I found out why. I will certainly return soon to sample more of their mouth-watering menu. I’m a strong believer in buying the best produce and creating refinined dishes of quality over quantity. I found that having children impacted upon my food habits and creating delicious homemade recipes
for the family became a major factor in my everyday routine.
I recently visited the offices of The Spanish Food Company
in Brighton and set up a table top studio to shoot some product photography. Their entire range of hampers needed to be photographed for their website and we spent the day setting up and photographing each hamper and it’s products. The quality of the ingredients is astounding and will prove very popular indeed on the run up to Christmas. Here are several images from the shoot.
