The SOSCA annual dinner returned to the Grand Harbour Hotel, Southampton this year and it provided a great backdrop for an evening of entertainment and charity fundraising for the president’s chosen charity, Action on Pre-eclampsia. The evening began at the presidents VIP reception, closely followed by a hearty dinner before a heart breaking account of an ordeal that clearly highlighted the plight of pregnant mothers who suffer from the life threatening condition pre-eclampsia.
Later, former England rugby star and rugby commentator Brian Moore, guest speaker for the evening, delighted the audience with his rugby anecdotes before taking his turn on the mic to raise much need funds in the charity auction. Sponsorship for the event came courtesy of Lexus and CMA and Mark Spofforth, President of the ICAEW, gave positive accounts of economic growth in the UK. The Toastmaster for the event was Nigel Gordon Rae with event photography by……. me. Here’s my take on a great evening.
