I returned to the Brighton Grand and Pangdean Old Barn yesterday for another wonderful East Sussex wedding, this time for Sophie and Mark. The sun was shining, the sky was blue and finally we experienced a taste of summer that brings Brighton and its sights to life. Brides preparations at the Brighton Grand is always special, overlooking the beach and the West Pier, and after a bright and chilled ceremony in the Empress Suite we headed straight for the beach and a super swift photo session. Coaches took us to Pangdean for the usual warm welcome against the stunning South Downs backdrop. There are so many reasons why I love shooting weddings at Pangdean; the people, the backdrop, the gardens and of course the delicious cuisine! With a scheduled hour fifteen drinks reception I had my work cut out to ensure I took plenty of natural bride and groom and guest shots, as well as a handful of family groups. Leaving the bridesmaids and groomsmen shots until the evening always gives you a little breathing space and the chance for them to loosen their inhibitions. The surprise first dance went down very well and the dancing concluded what had been a thoroughly enjoyable and beautiful wedding day. Congratulations Sophie and Mark and here’s my take on that wonderful day. I must just mention the wonderful Lisa Giffiths of flawless Makeover, make-up artist extraordinaire, for her first class service once again!
