The Powder Mills Country House Hotel in Battle, East Sussex is rather special to me since this is where my wife and I had our wedding reception, and so returning recently to photograph Alison and John’s wedding was a real treat. Originally the site of a famous Gunpowder Works it was reputed to have made the finest gunpowder in Europe during the Napoleonic Wars and has since been transformed into a charming, cosy country hotel. My wedding brief was for minimal intervention and to capture the mischievous and fun nature of the bridal party and guests. The weather was absolutely wonderful for an April wedding and we were fortunate enough to spend the majority of the drinks reception in the fresh air, poolside and lakeside. Alison and John were so much fun to work with, as were the guests and of course the lovely Lola the Cockerpoo! Congratulations Alison and John and here’s my take on your fabulous Sussex wedding day, with an extended gallery of images on your private wedding gallery.
