I’ve been a wedding photographer in Sussex for many years and during that time I’ve covered many weddings at Pangdean Old Barn in Pyecombe. It helps having been on the recommended suppliers list for the past 10 years or so and knowing the team at Pangdean so well. The venue is set in amongst the rolling South Downs and has beautiful views overs fields and farmland, with something new for every season. The huge garden is absolutely perfect for entertaining a large number of guests, throughout the spring and summer, and the barn with it’s adjoining buildings offers plenty of space for entertaining too, should the weather take a turn for the worst. The management and staff are highly professional and friendly at Pangdean and the catering is quite simply exceptional.
I’ve shot at least 14 weddings at Pangdean Barn over the years and my latest one in Autumn 2016 even took place outside in the garden, a magical experience!

Dawn and Paul, Pangdean Barn throughout the day – In summer 2017 I was lucky enough to work with Dawn and Paul, documenting their wedding in a relaxed way that kept the day feeling chilled, method that always delivers great results. Here’s a taste of Dawn and Paul’s lovely Pangdean Barn wedding day through my eyes.
Becci and Jonathan, Pangdean Barn from the beginning to the end – All I ask for from a winter wedding is little or no rain, or at the very least no wind, however Becci and Jonathan’s winter wedding was blessed with the most wonderful winter sunshine all day. A great timesaver was the group shot of all the guests before the bride and groom went down the aisle and the 20minute couple shoot around the garden was fabulous. Amazing light, an amazing couple and a wonderfully colourful selection of images from their wedding at Pangdean Barn.
Jenny and Matt, Pangdean Barn from start to finish – What a glorious day in the sun at one of my favourite Sussex venues. A very chilled day was had by all, with a gorgeous garden ceremony, some lovely group shots during drinks, a whirlwind couple shoot before dinner, plus a fabulous 15 minute couple shoot during the golden hour before speeches. The light was amazing and so were the people. Here’s a wonderfully colourful selection of images from the wedding day at Pangdean.
Suzanne and Mark, The Sacred Heart Church, Hove and Pangdean Barn – The opportunities were endless at Suzanne’s and Mark’s wedding, with two stops at bride’s preps, groom’s preps, a first look on Brighton Bandstand, a beach photo call, a church ceremony and finally the reception at Pangdean Barn. I loved the energy of their day and I’m so pleased I was chosen to document this wonderful day. Here’s a taster of their Brighton and Hove wedding.
Nicola and Matt, St Teresa’s Church, Southwick and Pangdean Barn – You’d never know that Nicola absolutely hated the thought of being in front of the camera before the wedding, however, after having spent a couple of hours together on the South Downs for a pre-wedding shoot, those worries disappeared and she relaxed beautifully for the camera. What a wonderful day we had! Enjoy a selection of their wedding images!
Sarah and Tom, Poynings Church and Pangdean Barn – Thanks for everything Paul, you were absolutely amazing on the day and we really love our wedding images and wedding album! The photos are beautiful. Love Sarah and Tom. See a selection of their wedding images.
Sophie and Mark, Brighton Grand and Pangdean Barn – A lovely summer wedding at the Grand Hotel in Brighton, photos on Brighton beach and a coach ride to the drinks and evening reception at Pangdean Barn. A lovely day with lovely weather. See a selection of their wedding images.
Leanne and Greg, Poynings Church and Pangdean Barn – Leanne and Greg’s wedding was an absolute joy to photograph and Leanne looked absolutley stunning. We had such a wonderful day and I would have happily spent a second day with them given half the chance!

Jenny and Andy‘s wedding at Wivelsfield Church and Pangdean Old Barn – Jenny and Andy’s wedding was absolutely wonderful despite the wind and rain. Luckily Jenny and Andy both love walking in the countryside and as a result are pretty hardy and resilient, allowing us to brave the elements and get some great outdoor shots. Jenny still gets my bravest bride of the year award though! View a selection of Jenny and Andy’s wedding images here.
Hannah and Alex‘s wedding at St Mary’s in Surrenden Road, Brighton and Pangdean Old BarnThe weather forecast in the week leading up to Hannah and Alex’s wedding didn’t look favourable, however it kept changing, until on the day we were blessed with a gloriously warm and sunny day. The wedding was a great success and we were able to enjoy drinks and canapes on the lawn at the foot of the South Downs. View a selection of Hannah and Alex’s wedding images here.
Gemma and Clive‘s wedding at Pangdean Old Barn – You worked so hard shooting our wedding Paul and it shows because the images were beautiful and the image book even better! Thank you. View Gemma and Clive’s wedding image book here.
