Amy and Tom’s glorious summer wedding at Horsted Place

I was thrilled when Horsted Place recommended me to Amy and Tom for their wedding and I was even more thrilled when we met and discussed their ‘chilled’ plans for their big day. My brief for the day was simple, allow the day to flow naturally, take a handful of groups and rest was up to me! Starting with the detail I was able to dip in and out of brides and grooms preps within the hotel with minimal interruption and see Amy transformed into a beautiful bride, whilst Tom tried on a few jackets until he found the one that was actually his, at which point his transformation into the handsome groom was complete!

A lovely ceremony followed, complemented by two beautiful readings that really set the tone for the day, and when Amy and Tom left the room and reappeared on the steps as husband and wife a few moments later, the celebrations began. Fifty minutes of drinks and canapés followed, giving me precious time for lots of candid shots, before I whisked the happy couple off for a 15 minute couple shoot, leaving the best men to prime the guests for a handful of group shots. Then if was off again for a 10 minute couple shoot as the guests were seated, taking in some of the lovely architecture around the house and making the most of our short time before dinner. A sumptuous feast awaited, followed by hilarious speeches and an amusing moment of forgetfulness by the father of the bride. Was it 6 or 7 he pondered? Yes, there are definitely 7 sons! After dinner there was one more brief couple shoot to take in some late evening scenery and light and then it was onto a lovely first dance, followed by a burst of frenzied dancing by the children, who had been itching to go all afternoon!
