Last summer I had the pleasure of returning to Pelham House in Lewes for Danielle and Terry’s wonderful wedding and what a lovely surprise it was! Having shot lots of weddings over the years at Pelham House I was impressed to see that they’d not only refurbished the venue beautifully, but they’d also landscaped the gardens to include and outdoor ceremony area too. That was such a great idea because it fits in perfectly with the indoor options and works perfectly outside with the ceremony area dropping down below the lawn to an area that had previously been underused. This is a huge draw for couples looking for that extra special outdoor ceremony option. The inside has modern and colourful decor and coupled with the stunning architecture it makes for an all round awesome wedding venue. Loved it and can’t wait to return! Danielle and Terry very much wanted a documentary approach throughout the wedding, something I always encourage for a chilled relaxed day, twinned with some simple and fun portraits. I tend to offer several short portrait sessions to help keep things chilled and to make the best use of the light and ensure I capture the energy of the wedding day. The fabulous weather on this occasion was a huge bonus, allowing us to use all the gorgeous outside spaces at different times of the day. Everything was set for a fabulous day in their favourite location and what an awesome day we had. Here’s a small collection of the images to give you a flavour of the day.
If you’d like to see more about how I document a wedding day naturally, please check out my page on capturing natural moments, or perhaps you might be a shy couple who don’t like being the centre of attention, in which case please check out my guide for camera shy couples! Thanks for reading and feel free to get in touch because I’d love to hear from you. Enjoy!
