Alice and Tom’s Joyful Streatham Wedding

It seemed like an eternity waiting for my first wedding of 2020, after a long lockdown and constant heartache for my couples. Alice and Tom had me booked in for their Bartholomew Barn wedding in May 2020, however they were forced to postpone their day to 2021 and the only date they could reschedule to was a date in April I wasn’t available for. During that postponement phone call I sadly lost their booking and it felt like losing two good friends, however before the conversation ended Tom asked if they could call me back. Five minutes later Tom called back and they asked if I would be happy to shoot a smaller wedding as soon as the lockdown restrictions were lifted? I was so touched by the offer and it felt as though there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I gladly and excitedly accepted the offer and then set about finding Tom and Alice a great replacement wedding photographer for April 2021, which I promptly did. I then started the mental preparations for a long lockdown and the prospect of the wedding to come.

The day arrived in early July and I can’t begin to explain just how wonderful the experience was, for so many reasons. The plan was to document part of the day naturally within a 3 hour coverage, including a short amount of time set aside for some portraits and a couple of family groups. With Alice’s 7 sisters this was an absolute must and I duly obliged! having 30 people together after lockdown creates an incredible buzz of excitement and emotion, something that felt very special to be part of. Every movement was an opportunity, every moment was precious and everyone was beyond happy. This was one hell of an enjoyable wedding, one that I will never forget! Thank you both X
