If you love Lewes and you love weddings, then you’ll love Claire and Chris’s Lewes wedding, that has to rate as the most fun and relaxed wedding I have ever shot! The fun started with bride’s preparations at Pelham House, setting the scene for the day and awaiting the arrival of the bridal parties ‘traditional’ mode of transport. The reception was being held at the Harvey’s Tavern, so what better way to get there than by the Harvey’s Dray, complete with two magnificent Shire horses. The dray picked up the bridal party and off they trotted around the block, before pulling up outside Lewes Town Hall for the wedding ceremony. The ceremony room was a real treat, however the ceremony itself was an irresistable mix of emotion and raw excitement, a wonderful way to start a new life together. Next, a short walk to Lewes Castle for some photos and to soak up some Lewes History, before the bride and groom were whisked away to the reception, leaving us to gently stroll down to the river for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations at the Harvey’s Tavern. Lovely warm weather, a pint of Harveys and delicious hearty food marked the start of an excellent reception for a fantastic couple who are full of the joys of life and so well suited! Here’s my take on this exciting day….
