Mariana and Stephen’s wedding day at Pangdean Barn was a cracker, complete with an outside ceremony in gorgeous sunshine and an amazing golden hour to top of their wonderful day. My day started half an hour before the ceremony with low key groomsmen and guests arrivals shots ahead of the arrival of the bride. Mariana the bride snuck in the back entrance to the house along with her seven bridesmaids. I didn’t think it was possible to sneak in with seven bridesmaids, but with two entrances to the venue it certainly is!
The outside ceremony at Pangdean Barn is always an exciting prospect in the summer sunshine and theirs didn’t disappoint with huge smiles all round. As with all my weddings we had planned for the bride and groom to chill out with their guests for the first hour of drinks, after they reappeared for the confetti. The huge lawn is perfect for a garden party at Pangdean and the numerous activities keep the children occupied and adults alike, as you’ll see below. The drinks were flowing and there were canapés a plenty, as is always the case at Pangdean, so that everyone was satisfied ahead of some groups shots. I stick to a well proven schedule for the drinks reception, chill time, followed by some groups and followed by a short couple shoot whilst the guests are being seated. The summer gives me time in the evening for a couple shoot on the hill, therefore the short couple shoot before dinner is perfect to keep the bride and groom with their guests as long as possible. Everyone is happy because they enjoy the day with the couple as intended.
Next on the agenda is for the arrival of the couple in the barn for the wedding breakfast, with speeches ahead of the meal in this instance. The wedding breakfast itself at Pangdean Barn is not only set in the beautiful barn, which oozes atmospheric, but the food is sensational and second to none. Everyone leaves satisfied and ready for the evening action, after the coffee in the dairy of course. This is a welcome opportunity for me to whisk the bride and groom away for a 20 minute portrait session on the hill and for Mariana and Stephen we had everything we could possibly hope for. Blue skies, golden wheat and golden hour sunshine just dropping down behind the South Downs. You’ll see below that we had a swift and relaxed shoot to complement the perfect day and set them up beautifully for their first dance in the barn, hosted by their excellent Dj. The perfect end to the perfect day and without further ado here’s my take on their Pangdean wedding.
