laura and nick’s wedding at the chantry and the sussex barn

What a fantastic day we had at Laura and Nick’s wedding ceremony at the Chantry and wedding reception at the Sussex Barn on Saturday, despite the topsy turvy May weather. I’m sure English brides are becoming braver these days and brave is what they need to be when the temperatures plummet overnight! Anyway, with a brave bride present and lots of lovely family and freinds support, the scene was set for a wonderfully heartwarming wedding day. After brides preparations in Uckfield, we zipped down the Chantry in Turners Green for the ceremony. If you’ve not heard of the Chantry, it’s a lovely little Baptist Chapel in Turners Green, licensed for civil ceremonies and run by a lovely lady named Sue. After a lovely ceremony and copious amounts of confetti, it was off to The Sussex Barn in Hellingly, a real rural retreat, and a real treat! The weather kept us inside for 3/4 hour but when the sun finally found it’s way through, we pounced on the opportunity to get outside and take advantage of the spectacular views. After a delicious wedding breakfast, we settled down to a night of partying, courtesy of the DJ and two family bands, one of which was the legendary Luv Nuggets. Here’s my take on a wonderful day.

What can I say…..pic’s are wonderful as always…despite your capturing me squelching through the mud with brolly at the ready, trying to keep hat on, very elegant! …….The atmosphere is always so much better when your photographer is so friendly too, you’re now like an old friend! OK..less of the old I know!;-) Laura looked stunning and Nick scrubbed up quite well too! Ha ha. They are all such a lovely family, it was an awesome day! Look forward to the next one!Yippee! :)x

Thank you Jan. You really are a lovely and special group of people and it’s always a pleasure to work with you. So next it’s the lovely Faye’s wedding and then I’m going to have to help you find suiters for the siblings in the group! I have this uncontrolable urge to ask the Luv Nuggets if I can sind one song with them at Fayes wedding, which would be the icing on the cake. Ask Billy it they could manage Dakota by the Sterophonics? :-o That would be in the same league as when I shot my best friends wedding at the same time as being best man. It kept me on my toes but was a terrifying prospect! Thanks Jan and I’m pleased Nev made it onto the blog too! Has he forgiven me yet? Paul x
