There are two things you need to capture great documentary wedding images, time and skill, time to observe the moments and skill to record those moments well! The great thing is that by allowing enough time for the documentary images you allow yourself enough time to enjoy your guests and the day you worked so hard to plan. As wedding photographers we have to make continuous decisions about what to photograph and it’s important our clients trust us to deliver, so we can allow plenty of time to find those quirky and beautiful moments they’ll adore. I find the first hour after the ceremony and after wedding breakfast are perfect for this, however I’m always on the lookout for and spotting moments throughout the wedding, happy in the knowledge that my clients are having the time of their lives with their nearest and dearest.
Here are some of my favourite documentary moments that have all the elements I look for to complete an exciting and creative wedding coverage. If you love what you see and you’d like more information, please do get in touch via the contact form below. Enjoy! If you’d like to see how I document your day naturally, take a look at how I capture natural wedding moments and how work with camera shy couples. It’s a great way to see how it’s possible to record the majority of the wedding day without any intervention and how we can record images of you, your family and friends you’ll adore.
