It’s not often often I get the chance to photograph a farm wedding on the South Downs but at the end of May my luck was in. I’d been chosen to photograph Gemma and Alex’s wedding at Ringmer’s St Mary the Virgin Church and their reception on the family farm, and boy what a treat it was. With a brave bride, a calm groom, a field full of sheep, breathtaking views and awesome light created by the stormy weather I couldn’t go wrong. A storm had been brewing throughout bride’s preparations, the result of which was a torrential downpour like no other, beautifully timed to coincide with mine and the grooms arrival at the church. So, what will gemma the bride be thinking? Well, she needn’t worry because the moment she left the house, the rain stopped, the clouds cleared and the sun shone, setting the tone for a wonderful wedding day dodging showers and making the most of our time outside in the beautiful landscape. Congratulations Gemma and Alex and here’s my take on your fab day.
